Hiking on the Lechweg

The Lech Trail runs along one of the last wild river landscapes in Europe and offers a unique nature experience. On the approximately 125 kilometres, you accompany the Lech from its source near the Formarinsee lake in Lech am Arlberg to the Lech Falls in Füssen in the Allgäu. It leads past one of the largest ibex colonies in Europe, past a waterfall that magically dries up and springs up again every year, over Austria's longest pedestrian suspension bridge to the Bavarian royal castles. The trail connects three regions and two countries with their traditions and histories. From the Arlberg region to the Tyrolean nature park region Lechtal-Reutte to the southern Allgäu: the Lech has shaped all three regions over the centuries.
